A Success Story
This West Bend customer came to us with a desire for a fresh, polished look that would elevate their home’s overall aesthetic. They weren’t looking for anything overly elaborate—just a tasteful, cohesive design that would highlight the beauty of their home and yard without constant upkeep.
The front of the home provided the perfect canvas for a well-balanced planting plan. The key was to create visual interest across all seasons using a mix of textures, colors, and plant heights—while keeping everything approachable and easy to maintain.
We designed a front yard landscape that feels natural, harmonious, and quietly stunning. The design uses classic plant choices in a thoughtful layout to ensure visual appeal from early spring through late fall—and beyond.
Evergreens were placed along the foundation to provide structure and year-round greenery. These hardy plants serve as the backbone of the design, anchoring the space with form and depth even in winter.
Flowering shrubs such as hydrangeas and ninebark were added for their seasonal blooms and foliage color. These varieties offer long-lasting interest without requiring high maintenance.
Perennials like black-eyed Susans, catmint, and coral bells were tucked in among the shrubs to soften the look and add layers of color and texture throughout the growing season.
An ornamental tree—chosen for its unique form and subtle beauty—was planted at the corner of the house. This tree helps transition the eye between the two existing taller buckthorns and a mature tree nearby, creating a sense of balance and symmetry.
A small planting bed at the property’s edge became a charming focal point. Filled with a mix of low-growing shrubs and colorful perennials, it adds a welcoming touch that draws attention from the street and invites visitors into the space.
The transformation brought exactly what the homeowner envisioned—an updated, elegant look that feels fresh yet timeless. The front yard now has a strong, cohesive presence that highlights the home without overshadowing it. Every element of the design works together to create a landscape that is both functional and beautiful.
The mix of evergreens, perennials, and flowering shrubs ensures that there’s always something interesting happening in the landscape, while the ornamental tree and focal-point bed add character and balance to the overall design.
Best of all, the simplicity of the layout means the homeowner can enjoy the space without worrying about constant upkeep—just seasonal touch-ups and the joy of watching their garden evolve throughout the year.
