Tall Garden Phlox are a favorite in the garden, but often are plagued by powdery mildew in hot, humid conditions. These varieties are selected especially for their improved resistance over typical Phlox paniculata varieties. With beautiful colors and incredible performance, these are varieties to plant and watch them grow, with little work required. The brilliant flower color of ‘Pink Lighting’ will deliver a shock to the landscape when it begins blooming in midsummer. Each individual flower is a bright true pink with a central white starburst pattern. The intensity of the flower color matches varieties like ‘Sunset Coral’ and ‘Ultraviolet’. Individual flowers are the largest in the series. Compared with ‘Prismatic Pink’ the flowers are not as lavender and have light colored centers instead of dark. Healthy foliage has been documented as mildew free through September. These perennials are a favorite of gardeners around the world and a staple of North American native gardens. Be sure to locate these plants in full sun for the best flowering performance and to help avoid powdery mildew concerns. A favorite of pollinators.

| Growth Tips | Phlox is unequaled for its showy blooms over a long period in summer. Though it is one of the most popular perennials available, it does require some maintenance to sustain its health and vigor. Phlox grows best in rich, moist soil in full sun. It will thrive with fertilizing every other month and consistant moisture levels. Overhead watering should be avoided since some varieties of phlox are susceptible to powdery mildew. This can be avoided or diminished by providing ample air circulation around the plants and by thinning them out periodically. Deadheading will prolong bloom time and prevent self-seeding. |

Understanding Plant Pot Sizes
When you’re choosing plants, you’ll often see sizes listed as #1, #2, or #3 containers. These numbers refer to the volume of the pot, not the age of the plant.
#1 Pot – Holds about 1 gallon of soil. These are small starter plants, great for tight spaces or filling in around larger features.
#2 Pot – Holds about 2 gallons of soil. A medium size that balances affordability with faster establishment in the landscape.
#3 Pot – Holds about 3 gallons of soil. These larger plants give more immediate impact and tend to establish quickly.
Bigger pots generally mean more mature root systems, but the right choice depends on your project goals, timeline, and budget.
