HAKONECHLOA MACRA `AUREOLA`
$54.99
There is no ornamental grass quite like Hakonechloa with striking color and an arching form that resembles a cascading miniature bamboo. Named the Perennial Plant Association’s 2009 Perennial Plant of the Year because of its many uses in the garden as a groundcover, a border-front specimen, a mass planning or in a container, its bright yellow leaves with very thin green striping brightens up the darkest garden area while its cascading form responds to slight breezes with the blades moving like waves in the ocean. ‘Aureola’ slowly spreads by stolons and is not a threat to other garden companions with its slow spreading nature and it complements other plants in the garden well especially those with dark foliage. This stunning grass loves partial shade which will provide optimum conditions for the best color especially in warmer climates and moist, well drained soils that are protected against drought. In the cooler days of autumn the golden foliage becomes tinged with shades of pink and red to add even more adventure to your landscape!

Understanding Plant Pot Sizes
When you’re choosing plants, you’ll often see sizes listed as #1, #2, or #3 containers. These numbers refer to the volume of the pot, not the age of the plant.
#1 Pot – Holds about 1 gallon of soil. These are small starter plants, great for tight spaces or filling in around larger features.
#2 Pot – Holds about 2 gallons of soil. A medium size that balances affordability with faster establishment in the landscape.
#3 Pot – Holds about 3 gallons of soil. These larger plants give more immediate impact and tend to establish quickly.
Bigger pots generally mean more mature root systems, but the right choice depends on your project goals, timeline, and budget.
