Delft Lace’ Astilbe has deep red stems that perfectly accent the blue-green, waxy foliage covered with a silver-lacey overlay, much like the foliage of the ever-popular selection ‘Visions’. But what makes ‘Delft Lace’ standout from ‘Visons’ is the softer, more delicately textured yet still powerful bloom. These mighty blooms are strongly held high above the foliage on candy apple red stems. The buds emerge deep salmon-pink and open to a soft apricot-pink. This remarkable Astilbe brightens up any shady area with the enchanting foliage that just keeps growing and growing over the summer months. It does not handle drought well so be sure to provide adequate water throughout the hot summer months.

| Growth Tips | Astilbe's should be pruned in the early spring after the last frost. Pruning them in early summer is an option but the longer you wait the more flowers could be lost to the prune. You can prune off spent flowers to keep your plant looking tidy but too much pruning late in the season can spur new growth that is delicate and may be killed off by frosts in the fall and winter and cause undo stress to the plant as well as an unsightly plant. |

Understanding Plant Pot Sizes
When you’re choosing plants, you’ll often see sizes listed as #1, #2, or #3 containers. These numbers refer to the volume of the pot, not the age of the plant.
#1 Pot – Holds about 1 gallon of soil. These are small starter plants, great for tight spaces or filling in around larger features.
#2 Pot – Holds about 2 gallons of soil. A medium size that balances affordability with faster establishment in the landscape.
#3 Pot – Holds about 3 gallons of soil. These larger plants give more immediate impact and tend to establish quickly.
Bigger pots generally mean more mature root systems, but the right choice depends on your project goals, timeline, and budget.
